Works in Clay

In the past few years, craving a more tactile and embodied way of working, I began experimenting with clay.

Like many of my visual work, these ceramics are inspired by nature, particularly the forms and textures of the ocean.

I started out throwing on the wheel, but quickly realized that hand building allows for more freedom to create wild, organic shapes and textures.

As I continue to explore the forms and textures of nature through clay, I’m interested in finding an intersection between my visual work and my ceramics practice, how one can inform the other.
